Detroit automakers and five other corporations promised $8 million to the city, including 100 new patrol vehicles for the Detroit Police Department , Mayor Dave Bing announced today.
The funds will bring each of the trio of new law enforcement sedans into the city, including the Chevrolet Caprice PPV , Dodge Charger Pursuit , and Ford Police Interceptor . The donation will also cover the cost of 23 ambulances for the Detroit Detroit Fire Department's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Division.
