Maryland Deputy Injured in Head-on Vehicle Collision

A deputy with the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office was badly injured when her patrol vehicle collided head-on with a minivan early Tuesday morning.

A deputy with the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office was badly injured when her patrol vehicle collided head-on with a minivan early Tuesday morning.

According to CBS News, the 22-year-old female deputy was transported to a nearby hospital where she is listed in critical but stable condition.

The driver of the minivan—identified as 38-year-old April Lee Lyons—was also badly wounded.

Both are expected to survive their wounds and an investigation into the incident is now ongoing.
