An officer with the Denton (TX) Police Department who was critically wounded in a shooting last year will be welcomed home from an out-of-state rehab facility by friends, family, fellow officers, and members of the public at a ceremony on Monday afternoon.

According to Fox News, there will be an award ceremony Monday afternoon to recognize Officer Urban Rodriguez that will also recognize the people who helped find the suspect accused of shooting him.

The suspected gunman—identified as Antwon Pinkston—is now facing a charge of capital murder.

Officer Rodriguez is now permanently disabled.
