A Pine Bluff, AR, police officer was killed and another wounded in a Monday afternoon shootout.

Pine Bluff Police Chief Kelvin Sergeant said the shootout involved three officers and at least one suspect. The three officers were conducting an ongoing investigation as part of the violent crime unit.

Officer Kevin Collins was shot and killed. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital at 2:10 pm local time. Officer Raff Isaac was wounded. He is reportedly in stable condition with non-life-threatening wounds. The third officer involved in the shooting was not hit.

A suspect is in custody.

No details on the nature of the investigation or whether any other persons were injured in the shooting have been revealed. There are reports in local media of multiple wounded subject, but the information has not been confirmed.

Arkansas State Police are conducting the investigation of the shooting.
