Oregon Officer, Civilian Driver, Injured in Vehicle Collision

An officer with the Portland (OR) Police Department and a female civilian motorist were injured in a vehicle collision on Saturday in Southeast Portland.

An officer with the Portland (OR) Police Department and a female civilian motorist were injured in a vehicle collision on Saturday in Southeast Portland.

According to the Portland Tribune, the incident occurred as officers were responding to a vehicle collision when a female driver—whose name has not yet been released—reportedly collided with a patrol vehicle approaching the scene, causing the squad car to flip several times before landing on its roof.

The officer and the civilian driver were both transported to a nearby hospital. The officer was treated and released.

No details about the condition of the motorist have been released.
