Two officers with the Chicago Police Department were injured while trying to disperse a crowd Sunday night.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, officers were responding to calls of a disturbance when they came upon a male subject holding a gun. The suspect fled on foot and a pursuit ensued.
During the pursuit, two officers suffered minor injuries. They were transported to a nearby hospital where they were both treated and released.
The assailant was found and taken into custody.
Another two suspects were apprehended and arrested a short time later.
Charges are pending.
Both officers are expected to fully recover from undisclosed injuries.
