The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Washington Field Division is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest of whoever is reportedly responsible for stealing a patrol rifle from an officer's vehicle late last week.

According to ABC News, an unknown number of suspects broke into the patrol vehicle of an officer with the Petersburg Bureau of Police and made away with a patrol rifle.

Chief Kenneth Miller issued a call to citizens to help in the investigation, saying, "We see the community as part of the team when it comes to solving criminal activity because the information they provide truly can make all the difference."
