A retired police officer with the Ormond Beach (FL) Police Department was stopped at the gate of the Universal Studios amusement park in Orlando earlier this month because he was wearing a t-shirt that read "Retired Police Officer."

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Vincent Champion—a 22-year law enforcement veteran who retired in 2009—was stopped at the gate and asked if he had a different shirt to wear into the park.

Following a lengthy delay and a discussion with the security guard's supervisor, Champion was eventually allowed entry into the park.

"I have never been treated this badly," Champion reportedly said.
