A Missouri woman has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for her role in the murder of an officer with the Clinton (MO) Police Department in March 2018.

According to Fox News, 38-year-old Tammy Widger was convicted of second-degree murder in connection with the death of Officer Christopher Ryan Morton when he and two other officers responded to a call of an unknown situation.

Upon their arrival, a man—identified as James Waters—opened fire on the officers, striking all three. Morton suffered fatal gunshot wounds in the exchange. The gunman then barricaded himself in the home—when SWAT entered the residence several hours later they discovered him dead.
