A New Jersey man holding a hypodermic needle and who appeared to be impaired reportedly lunged at officers responding to calls to check on the man's welfare.

A New Jersey man holding a hypodermic needle and who appeared to be impaired reportedly lunged at officers responding to calls to check on the man's welfare.

According to LehighValleyLive.com, the man—identified as Anthony Cirlincione—charged at the officers before getting into a physical struggle with officers attempting to arrest him.

Cirlincione is facing two counts of aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.

It was not immediately clear whether or not any of the responding officers suffered any injury.
