A flood damaged Nebraska State Patrol's Kearney office with two feet of water last week, ruining electrical outlets, carpeting, and other office equipment.

According to NBC News, the flooding also destroyed two police cruisers.

The troopers were unaware of the damage to their facility until after the flood waters had receded because they were all out on patrol, helping get stranded civilians to safety.

The troopers who have been displaced from their headquarters building are now using space at the Kearney Police Department.
