The Golden (CO) Police Department has welcomed to its ranks its newest K-9.

The agency posted on Facebook, "Congratulations to K-9 Mao on successfully completing his Colorado Police K-9 Association Certification."

On his first night on patrol, Mao had six deployments and in one of those, he located two suspects who ran from a hit-and-run/DUI motor vehicle collision and hid from officers down an embankment in the weeds.

The post concluded, "Great work, Mao and Officer Henslee!"
