An officer with the Memphis Police Department is being hailed for an act of kindness that enabled a young woman to attend her senior prom.
According to WSB-TV, Ryneisha Gardner discovered that the dress she had purchased for the event was badly damaged, and decided to not attend prom as a result.
A dispute between Gardner and the seamstress who made the dress ensued, and police were called.
Officer Stephan Holmes responded, and upon learning about the dilemma the young woman faced, transferred $540 to her mother's cash-transfer app on her phone.
Not only did Garner get a new dress, but she became prom queen.
