An officer with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is recovering in good condition after he was shot Sunday during a struggle with a shoplifting suspect.
According to the Indianapolis Star, Officer Eric Rosenbaum was attempting to apprehend 40-year-old William Allen when the confrontation occurred.
Rosenbaum was treated at the scene by fellow officers before being transported to a nearby hospital.
Allen is being held without bond—official charges have not yet been filed.
