Missouri Officer Accused of Killing Colleague Appears in Court

Nathaniel Hendren has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and armed criminal action in the shooting death of fellow officer Katlyn Alix.

An officer with the St. Louis Police Department—who is accused of facilitating the death of a fellow officer in a Russian roulette-like shooting in January—appeared in court on Monday.

According to the St. Louis Post Dispatch, 29-year-old Nathaniel Hendren has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and armed criminal action in the shooting death of fellow officer Katlyn Alix.

During the proceedings, prosecutors told the judge that they want to secure a superseding indictment from a grand jury, which has not yet happened.

Hendren's court appearance reportedly lasted about 10 minutes.
