Civilian Motorcyclists Join Police Motor Officers in Charity Ride for Fallen LEO

The event was organized by members of the East Coast Coyotes, a car club that had previously done two similar fundraisers for fallen police officers.

Community members joined motor officers with the Lumberton (NC) Police Department and the Robeson County Sheriff's Office in a charity ride to raise money for the family of fallen Officer Jason Quick, who was struck and killed by a vehicle while investigating another crash in December.

According to WBTW-TV, the event was organized by members of the East Coast Coyotes, a car club that had previously done two similar fundraisers for fallen police officers. In fact, Officer Quick was killed on the very same day the organization did a charity ride for Officer Jared William Franks of the Greensboro (NC) Police Department.

Participants were asked to donate $20 per person, and according to the organization's Facebook page, the event raised just shy of $11,000.

All proceeds from the event were given to Officer Quick's family.
