A suspect accused of making making threats against Detroit Police Chief James Craig and the entire police department has been arrested, reports WXYZ.

An officer found the threat painted on a wall on the city's east side Thursday night.

The paint read "kill all police, kill James Craig," and has been since painted over by the owner of the wall. The chief says it's a threat he and the department are taking seriously.

"Cowards," Craig said. "Not one would do what we do. We run towards gunfire, they run away. Cowards."

The suspect is described as a 49-year-old man with a criminal history.
