A Town of Brookfield (Wis.) Police officer apparently died of a heart attack while responding to a burglary call Friday night.

Officer Donald Bishop, 32, was alone in his patrol car, when he drove off the roadway. Medical care was provided at the scene.

Officer Bishop served as a full-time officer, firefighter, and dispatcher. He was considered an expert in radio communication. He was hired by the agency as a full-time officer in 2011, reports the Journal Sentinel.
