A forensic expert provided testimony Tuesday in the murder trial of former LAPD Detective Stephanie Lazarus about the bite mark on the victim's arm.

Prosecutors say DNA taken from saliva on the arm of Sherri Rasmussen, who was found dead in 1986, was later matched to Lazarus, who is accused of fatally shooting her after she married an ex-boyfriend.

The forensic expert testified that she took an impression of Lazarus' teeth and was given a cast of Rasmussen's arm but she did not attempt to match them, reports the Los Angeles Daily News.
