Tenn. Deputy Under Fire For Mowing Lawn In Shorts

A Bradley County (Tenn.) Sheriff's Office deputy who lost his job in December for mowing his lawn in his shorts will retain his law enforcement certification.

A Bradley County (Tenn.) Sheriff's Office deputy who lost his job in December for mowing his lawn in his shorts will retain his law enforcement certification.

Sheriff Jim Ruth has withdrawn his request to the Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission to have Deputy Dallas Longwith's certification withdrawn, reports the Cleveland Daily Banner.

Longwith was fired on Jan. 4 for "conduct unbecoming an officer," based on complaints he allegedly wore boxer shorts outside his home in August and December while mowing his lawn.
