VIDEO: Cops Drag Man In Airport Arrest
The Oklahoma City Police Department has launched an investigation into the arrest of man who attempted to sneak past an airport security checkpoint, claiming he was with the CIA and had documents to share with presidential candidate Newt Gingrich, reports The Oklahoman.
Officers arrested James Jay Heidebrecht, 53, at the Will Rogers World Airport on Feb. 20—the same day Gingrich was visiting the city. Surveillance video captured the 9 a.m. incident, which began with Heidebrecht shouting, "I'm with the CIA. I'm the director of the CIA."
Officers then used TASERs on Heidebrecht after a scuffle broke out during his arrest. After Heidebrecht refused to stand up, officers dragged him face down to a police office in the airport. He was then given a medical exam and taken to Oklahoma County jail.
The department has said Sgt. Joseph McMahon was one of the officers involved in the incident.
