The city of Concord, Calif., has agreed to pay $47,000 to an officer who had sued the city, alleging that the police department retaliated against him for standing up for a female officer who was denied a promotion, reports the San Jose Mercury News.
Lt. Timothy Runyon claimed he was moved to a worse job in February 2009 after questioning the department's decision not to promote Lt. Robin Heinemann.
