Two Staten Island-based NYPD officers are facing allegations that they tried to teach a 14-year-old Halloween egg tosser a lesson by stripping him and stranding him miles from home.
Two Staten Island-based NYPD officers are facing allegations that they tried to teach a 14-year-old Halloween egg tosser a lesson by stripping him and stranding him miles from home.
Reports say that Officers Thomas Elliassen and Michael Danese caught the teenager throwing eggs at cars about 8:30 Halloween night.
A source told the New York Daily News that the officers drove the teen to a swampy area of the island and left him there in only his socks and boxer shorts.
The boy then walked to a nearby store and called his parents, who picked him up. The boy's father told the Daily News that the officers beat his son and "left him for dead." He also charged that the officers, who are white, picked on his son because he is black.
Elliassen and Danese reportedly told their supervisor that they only intended to scare the boy and when they went back to pick him up, he was gone.
The Daily News reports that the two officers are on modified duty, pending an internal affairs investigation.
