SOG Specialty Knives and Tools is introducing several specialty knives and tools in 2010, including the Swedge line, which is geared toward law enforcement personnel.

The products use a new blade geometry that makes the tips of the knives stronger and less prone to breaking, a hybrid lock system that provides strong blade retention and allows the blade guard to pass through, and their first line of machetes.

The Swedge knives will be primarily marketed to law enforcement, Chris Cashbaugh, SOG's marketing director, announced during a press conference at SHOT Show 2010.

Developed in conjunction with Brent Beshara, a Canadian special ops military instructor, martial artist and custom knife maker, the Swedge features a new blade geometry that makes the tips of knives stronger and less prone to breaking.

The functional shapes of the Swedge are fast and powerful with grind lines never used before, according to SOG. Knives within the Swedge line, which are available in 8.3-inch, 9.2-inch and 10.1-inch lengths, feature a full tang, G10 handles for non-slip grip and a Kydex sheath with a variety of mounting options.

The knives retail for between $155 and $175.
