Paul Jr. Designs created the bikes for CrankyApe online powersport auction company owners Jay Adams and former police officer Brian Livingston.
"While nothing can compare to what these fallen officers have given, we hope to help gain recognition and support for such a great charitable organization whose focus is on remembering those who have made the greatest sacrifice to our communities," according to Livingston.
Livingston is a close friend of a St. Paul Police officer who was killed in the line of duty in 1994. On Aug. 26 of that year, St. Paul (Minn.) Police Officer Ronald Michael Ryan, Jr. was shot and killed, while investigating a suspicious person who was sleeping in a car along a roadway. Later that day, St. Paul PD's Officer Timothy James Jones and his K-9, Lazer, were ambushed and killed by the same suspect who killed Officer Ryan, who was a close family friend of Livingston, the co-founder of CrankyApe.com.
Livingston and Jay Adams have devised a way to give back to the community and commemorate all fallen officers. The custom Harley-Davidson motorcycle will be publicly auctioned on the CrankyApe Web site and proceeds will benefit the NLEOMF, a nonprofit organization that generates increased public support and commemorates the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.
"I think about Officer Ryan and all he and his family lost and now we have an opportunity to give something back," according to Adams.
