Detroit automakers and five other corporations promised $8 million to the city, including 100 new patrol vehicles for the Detroit Police Department, Mayor Dave Bing announced today.
The funds will bring each of the trio of new law enforcement sedans into the city, including the Chevrolet Caprice PPV, Dodge Charger Pursuit, and Ford Police Interceptor. The donation will also cover the cost of 23 ambulances for the Detroit Detroit Fire Department's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Division.
