Pelican Products, manufacturer of advanced lighting systems and protective cases, today announced Inc. Magazine's Inc. 5,000 list has identified it as one of America's fastest-growing companies. The list, published annually, highlights U.S.-based, privately held and independent companies with more than $2 million in revenues that have increased revenues significantly during the most recent three-year period.
"We're certainly excited about being ranked by a leading business publication as one of America's fastest-growing companies, as it is a testament to our hard- and smart-working employees, as well as our loyal customers," says Pelican Products CEO Lyndon Faulkner. "During the past few years, we have aggressively pursued growth opportunities to expand our U.S. and international operations, enhance our product offerings, and penetrate emerging markets."
According to an Inc. press release, companies on the 2007 Inc. 5,000 list produced $190 billion in aggregate revenue—about 1.5 percent of the national gross domestic product—and employed more than 900,000 people. Median revenue for those companies was $9.4 million, and median three-year growth was 140 percent. Pelican's revenue in 2007 was more than $151 million, a nearly 75-percent increase over 2004's revenue.
"Pelican's future is bright, as we are continually creating new ways to serve global markets with our advanced lighting systems and virtually indestructible cases," says Faulkner.
"The Inc. 5,000 has proven an invaluable tool for anyone seeking an understanding of the most important part of this economy—the entrepreneurial part," says Inc. 5,000 project manager Jim Melloan.
