Bushnell Outdoor Products has acquired Night Optics USA, a leading producer of night-vision and thermal imagers for law enforcement, according to the company.

MidOcean Partners, the private equity firm specializing in mid-market companies that purchased Bushnell in 2007, led the acquisition. Terms were not disclosed.

"Night Optics USA has built an exceptional reputation within the night-vision industry by exceeding the highest standards in both product quality and customer service," said Blake Lipham, Bushnell's president and CEO, in a press release. "This is an exciting acquisition for Bushnell, as it not only allows us to add another reputable brand to our organization; it enhances our product portfolio in the law enforcement, military and security markets."

Night Optics USA of Huntington Beach, Calif., was initially founded by brothers Ilya and Israel Reyngold, who have more than 18 years of experience in the night vision industry.

"Our mission at Night Optics USA is to provide premium quality equipment at competitive prices while achieving the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction," said Ilya Reyngold, president of Night Optics USA. "Our continuously evolving product line incorporates the latest technological developments and end-user input. Partnering with Bushnell gives us an exciting opportunity to further that mission and continue our track record of success while expanding globally."

For MidOcean Partners, purchasing Night Vision provided a strategic acquisition, said David Basto, a managing director with the firm.

Night Optics USA was represented by Mergers and Business Acquisitions, Inc. (M&BA). M&BA acted as the exclusive sale-side investment banker for this transaction.
