Authorities have arrested two men in Philadelphia in connection with the fatal shooting of an off-duty Newark police officer.
After identifying them on grainy surveillance images, officers arrested two men "of interest" in the slaying of Newark detective Michael Morgan, 32. They have not been charged. The men were taken into custody at 3 a.m.
The officer was attempting to defend himself and a dancer outside a strip club at 3 a.m. during an armed robbery. Det. Morgan was celebrating a birthday of a fellow officer, reports The Star-Ledger.
