Power Hawk Technologies Inc. has announced that it has expanded its patent protection in countries around the world for its Auto Crib-It vehicle stabilization rescue tool (US patent number 7,708,244 B2). Auto Crib-It is used by fire and rescue teams for vehicle extrication and collapse rescues.
The patent covers the design and technology of this unique vehicle stabilization tool. Because Auto Crib-It is piston-actuated, it allows first responders to safely stabilize a vehicle in just seconds. It automatically readjusts and locks during operations. And it is taller than most step-chocks used by fire and emergency rescue teams. Auto Crib-It is also compact, lightweight, and easily decontaminated. With a load holding capacity of 2,000 pounds for the AC-14 and 2,800 pounds for the AC-17, both units provide super holding strength. When used with air bags, jacks or rescue systems for lift-an-inch crib-an-inch operations, Auto Crib-It provides unmanned automatic cribbing.
"We're proud of how Auto Crib-It has progressed, and that we're offering a product that has been so widely accepted by first responders around the world," said William R. Hickerson, president of Power Hawk Technologies Inc. and the inventor of Auto Crib-It. "It's satisfying to know that we're playing a part in helping fire and emergency personnel to save lives faster and safer."
