Street Racers Block Colorado Highway
The Aurora Police Department tweet, which went out about 12:08 AM, reads: "There are reportedly 600 vehicles involved intentionally blocking the shoulders preventing police from accessing the area. There are reports of fireworks and smoke and weapons being waved. Stay out of area while officers try to address the situation."

Colorado Officers Injured Breaking Up Massive House Party
Police say three officers were injured after they were struck with rocks and bricks. Boulder Police Chief Maris Herold said all the injuries were minor. However, one officer came close to sustaining serious injuries, but a gas mask protected the officer's face from a blunt object thrown at police.

Denver's Program to Replace Police on Mental Health Calls "Saving Lives," Chief Says
"That's 748 times fewer that the police department was called, meaning we can free up law enforcement to do what law enforcement is supposed to do, and really what law enforcement is good at, and that is addressing crime issues, violent crime, property crime and traffic safety," he said. "...You have a safer community and you have better outcomes for people in crisis," Chief Paul Pazen said.

Denver Police to Get Raises in 2022, Pay Frozen Next Year
The terms include a 2% pay raise on Jan. 1, 2022 and a 1.5% raise on July 1. The terms also include a pay freeze and no holiday pay premiums in 2021, along with reduced city contributions to the retiree health trust.
