September 24th kicked off a month-long initiative to get drivers in communities across America to "Take the Pledge to Slow Down," culminating on Halloween, one of the most dangerous nights of the year for child pedestrians.

This year, the focus of the pledge is on safety in urban family neighborhoods, where children and adult pedestrians alike are at greater risk of being injured by traffic accidents.

As part of its safe-driving push, Autobytel will distribute reflective 'Trick or Treat' bags on its Websites and is working with school crossing guards nationwide to encourage local community members to “Take the Pledge to Slow Down,” particularly near schools. Autobytel will also distribute a range of safe-driving tips to newspapers and magazines nationwide, including 10 ways to make teens' “rides” safer.

For more information, visit Autobytel.com and click on the "Take the Pledge to Slow Down" button. Visitors can also access a range of safe-driving tips, articles, statistics, and links.
