Armor Holdings’ Dave Young Named to Police Advisory Board

Armor Holdings Director of Training Dave Young has accepted an invitation from POLICE magazine to join its Advisory Board effective this month.

Young is a nationally recognized law enforcement trainer and course developer with more than 19 years of civilian and military law enforcement experience and training. He heads up training for Armor Holdings Less Lethal Products Division for Defense Technology Corporation of America, Federal Laboratories-MACE.

"It’s my pleasure to welcome Dave to our esteemed board of law enforcement professionals," said Executive Editor Dennis Hall. "He has a unique and energetic take on the entire concept of training for police officers and is well regarded across the country by departments and law enforcement professionals.

"I look forward to his assistance and many future articles for our readers on cutting-edge training topics," added Hall.

Young is a former staff sergeant, non-commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps and an active member of the American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers. He has published several articles on officer survival related subjects. He has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, and People magazine for his dedication to officer survival and training. He has designed and developed numerous basic, senior and master level instructor courses including classes in OC, Chemical Munitions, Cell Extractions Systems, Dynamic Defense for Tactical Teams, Dynamic Arrest & Restraint Tactical Systems (DARTS), Edged Weapons Defense Systems, Ground Defense Systems, Surviving an OC Attack, Close Quarter Control Tactics, Impact Weapons Systems and Water Safety Survival Instructor WSSI.

He has instructed internationally in Japan and throughout the United States with his material having been adopted on city, state, federal and international law enforcement levels.

Armor Holdings, parent company to noted armor makers Safariland and Protech Armored Products and nine other companies, is one of the heavy hitters in the police industry with combined revenues of $95 million.
