St. Paul Officer Determined Not To 'Be Taken Out'

Officer David Longbehn, who was surprised by the speed of the attack that lasted about 10 seconds, shot Jones despite a broken nose, hairline fracture to the face, and eyes swollen shut.

St. Paul (Minn.) PD police officer David Longbehn is resting at home after being attacked by a suspect during Saturday's manhunt for the men who killed a Maplewood police officer, KAAL TV reports.

Longbehn was securing the perimeter at an intersection when suspect Jason Jones came out of the woods and attacked him with a heavy metal object.

Longbehn, who was surprised by the speed of the attack that lasted about 10 seconds, shot Jones despite a broken nose, hairline fracture to the face, and eyes swollen shut.
