The leader of a drug robbery crew apologized for fatally shooting a New York City police officer, yet flashed a smirk during a court appearance on Wednesday.
Lamont Pride told officers, "I'm sorry for what I did," after he was arrested for allegedly shooting NYPD Officer Peter Figoski in the face while pistol-whipping and robbing a Brooklyn drug dealer, reports the New York Daily News.
Pride's comment was reported in court documents filed in the case.
