Wounded D.C. Cop Out of Surgery

Metropolitan (D.C.) Police Officer Scott Williams, who was wounded in the Washington Navy Yard rampage, is out of surgery and remains in stable condition, Police Chief Cathy Lanier said.

Officer Scott Williams was shot twice in the leg during the Monday morning attack that left 13 dead, including suspected gunman Aaron Alexis. Details of the shooting were not clear, but Alexis was killing during a running gun battle at the military complex.

Officer Williams was treated at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, reports the Washington Post.
