Border Agent Killed in Head-on Collision in Texas

A two-vehicle collision near Carrizo Springs, Texas, early Friday claimed a Border Patrol agent's life.

A U.S. Border Patrol agent who died in a two-vehicle collision while on duty near Carrizo Springs early Friday was taken home over the weekend. Border Patrol officials told KSAT-TV that Robledo was involved in a head-on collision with a 2009 Dodge sedan while on patrol on FM 2644 at approximately 1:16 a.m.

Robledo, who was assigned to the Carrizo Springs Border Patrol Station, suffered traumatic injuries and was airlifted to the San Antonio Military Medical Center, where he later died. The driver of the 2009 Dodge sedan died at the scene.

Funeral services for Tyler Robledo, 34, will be held Monday morning in Eldorado."It's a real small community and to see him, one of the good persons, it's really hard," said family friend Martha Esquivel.

Federal, state and local law enforcement lined up for what would be Robledo's final ride home on Saturday.
