The California City (CA) Police Department announced via Twitter that K-9 Ty passed away Wednesday morning.

Ty was being treated for several injuries he had from earlier on in the year after apprehending a suspect that attacked officers.
The K-9 continued to serve the community after back surgery earlier on in the year, ABC23 reports.
