Police are searching for the gunman who shot the 14-year-old son of a Kannapolis, NC, police officer in the head while the boy sat in a car in east Charlotte late Monday night.
Police said the 14-year-old is in critical condition at the hospital, reports WSOC-TV.
Investigators said the teenager and his aunt were pulling into the home on Finchley Drive around 10:20 p.m., when they spotted two young men hiding in the bushes.
