Bishop, TX, Officer Pedro Vela was off duty and riding his motorcycle in Brownsville Sunday to see friends and family when he was struck in a hit-and-run crash. He died early Monday morning from his injuries, reports KRIS-TV.

Vela was a proud member of the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club. He was 22 years old.
