President Donald Trump took to Twitter to announce that his selection for the new director of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) would be Mark Morgan, who during the Obama presidency headed the United States Border Patrol.
The president said, "I am pleased to inform all of those that believe in a strong, fair and sound Immigration Policy that Mark Morgan will be joining the Trump Administration as the head of our hard working men and women of ICE. Mark is a true believer and American Patriot. He will do a great job!"
According to Fox News, Morgan has defended the president's immigration policies and publicly declared support for Trump's efforts to build a wall along the southern border.
