Texas Department Gets Gift of Protective Vests for K-9s

The Pflugerville (TX) Police Department's K-9s have received bullet and stab protective vests thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K-9s.

The Pflugerville (TX) Police Department's K-9s have received bullet and stab protective vests thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K-9s.

The agency said in a press release on its website, "K-9 Isa's vest was sponsored by Ruth Knoll of Kailua, HI, and embroidered with the sentiment 'In memory of Frosty.' K-9 Lubo's vest was sponsored by Kristen Emmett of Southampton, MA, and embroidered with the sentiment 'Born to Love, Trained to Serve, Loyal Always.' K-9 Tymo's vest was sponsored by Kathleen Clark of West Burke, VT, and embroidered with the sentiment 'Honoring Those Who Served and Sacrificed'."

The donation to provide one protective vest for a law enforcement K-9 is $950.00. Each vest has a value between $1,700 and $2,200.
