A deputy with the Cook County (IL) Sheriff's Office shot and wounded a teen who attempted to carjack him overnight.

According to Fox News, the deputy had just stepped out of his Corvette when the teen approached him.

The assailant was struck in the shoulder and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
