The NYC Police Benevolent Association posted on its Facebook page a video of a young man verbally abusing a police officer on a subway train.

The post was captioned, "For anybody who thinks yesterday's videos were isolated incidents: NYC POs are confronting this kind of abuse, or worse, on a daily basis. We're past the point of 'disrespect.' This behavior is inciting lawlessness, putting cops & NYers in danger."

The post was in continued response to videos posted Monday on social media showing brazen New York men dumping water on police officers on the sidewalk.

The PBA and others have issued strong statements against the water assaults undertaken by those individuals, calling for the arrest and prosecution of the suspects.

Former mayor Rudy Giuliani and others have said that the blame for the water bucket attacks falls at the feet of current mayor Bill de Blasio and other left-leaning city politicians who fail to support police.

Meanwhile, NYPD police leaders have stated that officers have the authority to arrest those individuals guilty of the water bucket assaults, and have called on prosecutors to press appropriate charges. The department has also released images of three individuals wanted for questioning in the attacks.

The video of the verbal assault on the train, the PBA says, is just one of many examples of mistreatment of NYPD officers.
