A veteran motor officer with the Pembroke Pines (FL) Police Department was badly injured when his motorcycle was struck by another vehicle.
According to ABC News, Sergeant John Baker—who has been with the agency for more than 20 years and now supervises the traffic unit—was briefly trapped beneath the vehicle that struck him on Saturday morning.
The driver—who has not yet been identified—reportedly stayed with Baker until responders arrived and is reportedly cooperating with investigators.
Sergeant Baker is listed in critical but stable condition at a nearby hospital.
