A deputy with the Escambia County (FL) Sheriff's Office was wounded in a gunfight with a suspect during a call of a suicidal subject at a home on Wednesday afternoon.
According to ABC News, 41-year-old Daniel Hux opened fire on responding deputies as they began to investigate noises emanating from the carport of the home.
The deputy who was struck was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The deputy was reportedly hit four times but is expected to make a full recovery, according to officials.
The suspect reportedly also suffered undisclosed injuries.
Deputies have reportedly responded to this home 16 times since April 2019.
