An Oregon man is facing multiple charges following an incident in which he allegedly opened fire on an officer with the Oregon City (OR) Police Department.
The man—identified as 31-year-old Beau Nichlas Wilcox—told Fox News he was not trying to hurt the officer when he trained a long gun on him from some distance away and squeezed the trigger. Police said officers were responding to a domestic disturbance call at the house where Wilcox lived. Wilcox was reportedly damaging property at the house and threatening to shoot his family members, according to police.
The officer—whose name has not been released—took cover behind a vehicle and was not struck.
Wilcox is facing charges including attempted aggravated murder, felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, assault in the fourth degree, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
