Pennsylvania Police Issue Citation to Woman for Violating "Stay-at-Home" Order

Police in Pennsylvania cited a woman for violating the state's "stay-at-home" order—meant to slow the spread of coronavirus—because she went out for a drive in her personally owned vehicle over the weekend.

According to Fox News , the woman—identified as 19-year-old Anita Shaffer—was stopped by Pennsylvania State Police for a vehicle equipment violation and was told thereafter that she was in violation of the order put in place by Governor Tom Wolf for citizens to remain at home.

The woman reportedly told the officers at the traffic stop that she didn't know that the "stay-at-home" order also applied to being in her vehicle.

She was issued a citation for just over $200.

Police later said on social media, "We are not conducting Coronavirus checkpoints."
