Man Dies by Suicide During a Struggle with Wisconsin Police Officer

A Wisconsin man reportedly died by suicide during a struggle with an officer with the Caldonia (WI) Police Department on Monday morning.

According to NBC News , the Wisconsin Department of Justice is investigating the incident in which the officer—whose name was not released—was trying to apprehend a subject when the suspect purportedly took a gun from his waistband and turned it on himself.

The individual—whose name has not been released—was pronounced dead at the scene.

The officers involved in the confrontation have been placed on leave, per department policy.
