Video: Minnesota Officer Sideswiped on Traffic Stop

An officer with the Duluth (MN) Police Department was sideswiped by a passing car as he got out of his patrol vehicle for a traffic stop on Wednesday.

An officer with the Duluth (MN) Police Department was sideswiped by a passing car as he got out of his patrol vehicle for a traffic stop on Wednesday.

According to NBC News, Officer Nick Hudson was initiating a traffic stop when he was struck by a passing SUV that was being pursued by another patrol vehicle.

The driver of the SUV was allegedly under the influence and was arrested for Criminal Vehicular Operation, DWI, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Fortunately, Officer Hudson was not seriously hurt.

"Our best wishes to Nick for a full and speedy recovery," Chief Mike Tusken wrote in a Facebook post.
